General Onboarding Template: Resource Descriptions

Onboarding Program Template

This template outlines a full program, presented as a 4-week training recommendation. Should an organization or department choose to adopt this onboarding experience, this shows all of the topics that training needs to be created or curated to cover.

Marketing Onboarding Plan (example)

This is essentially the project plan for developing all the topics outlined in the Program Template. This example is specific to marketing and each org will have to customize it to fit their needs, as it is highly detailed.

Hiring Manager Guide

This guides the hiring Manager’s through their responsibilities, starting before the new hire starts, through onboarding, until they are fully ramped and working mostly independently.

This asset assumes the org or department has adopted the full onboarding experience. If they have not, the Manager and Onboarding Mentor become responsible for customizing the experience and getting their new hire up to speed on all topics listed/desired (also noted in the guide).

Onboarding Plan for New Hire

This template must be filled out by the hiring Manager for each new hire – it contains information specific to the team and role being hired. The Manager will provide this to the new hire ASAP and the two (or three, if the Onboarding Mentor attends) will review this plan together on Day 2.
